We're Making Progress!

Monday, July 28th 2008 ~ I was given a wonderful baby shower by the staff at Spring Valley ER. I was incredibly grateful at the lengths my co-workers went to make it special. We received wonderful gifts that have helped so much in making us feel more prepared for Jaxon. Jared and I received a Pack and Play from our registry that we absolutely love. My co-workers and I joked that Jared would have the Pack and Play put together before I even got home from work that day... sure enough, it was set up and ready to go! In addition to the pack and play, we received gift cards, adorable outfits, crib sheets, books and sooo much more! Jared and I are two very lucky parents to be! I can say with certainty that I work with the best people in the Valley!

Also, another great big thank you to all my girlfriends that have surprised us with remarkable gifts in the mail! I can't even express how much it means to me that you all are thinking about us! Sarah, Caitlin, Katie, Heather, Danielle your gifts were certainly a surprise and we thank you very much!

We had our weekly Dr. appointment today and I'm a whole 1 cm dilated. I thought for sure that I would be a little further along.  Jared and I couldn't be more ready... our hospital bags have been packed, unpacked and packed again. We have every possible baby device put together and strategically placed about the house thanks to Jared! Now, we are just impatiently waiting for Jaxon to meet the outside world. He has to be getting restless in his cramped living quarters by now...I'M getting restless!

Please believe that my already large ankles can't take much more stretching!

My fingers are like sausage links and I'm convinced that my bladder only holds a fraction of an ounce! We're ready Jaxon. It's time to come out and meet your mommy and daddy!

Baby Shower & a BBQ

Jared and I had our Baby Shower & a BBQ on July 11th. It was great to have everyone at our house to celebrate the upcoming birth of Jaxon! It was definitely not your typical "baby shower" but it was a great gathering of Jared's close friends, some of which he had not seen in a while. Carolyn, a close friend of mine at work, helped a tremendous amount with the shower. (Thanks Carolyn, you know you're awesome).

We received amazing gifts from everyone. Our friends went above and beyond! Thank you so much to everyone that came. Jared and I appreciate your love and support more than we can express.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

READY OR NOT!

Jared and I are ecstatic and anxiously awaiting the new addition to our family! We started this page to keep all of our friends and family up to date on our new and exciting adventures with baby Jaxon! Only a few more weeks for the big debut and we couldn't be more happy! Sleep will soon be a distant memory. I can't say we haven't been preparing...with my frequent night time potty breaks and restless tossing about, Jared and I have slowly been conditioning for our marathon ahead!
